Review on 💻 Vantec USB 3.0 SATA IDE Adapter ISA225 by Jon Bishop

READ this LEGAL review CAREFULLY as it will save you from trouble. I'll start by saying I'm not a regular user of Joe Blow's computer. I'm a full-time sysadmin and also run an IT sales and repair shop in town. This IDE/SATA to USB 3.0 adapter is a poor quality product. This junk has by no means passed the quality control standards known to the civilized world. I bought it to recover some valuable data from some old IDE backup drives. Plugged it into a working spare laptop first and the system froze. So I connected it to my desktop using a custom PCI USB 3.0 card and Windows recognized the "removable drive" connected. After a few seconds, the machine started disconnecting and reconnecting the drive in Disk Manager. Less than a minute later the computer hung and restarted. I moved it to a second desktop and the same thing happened, windows crashed and the computer restarted. This piece of junk doesn't conform to USB standards. This causes either the power draw to be out of spec or a short circuit on ALL the machines I've tried. Return for a full refund. Avoid this junk at all costs or you could fry your computer and any drive you connect this adapter to.
