The brightness of this lamp is impressive. I use mine next to my bed and it gives me the ability to toggle the settings from low to bright: bright enough for reading and low enough to watch TV or use as a soothing night light. The touch switch is very useful, especially late at night when I need it. I can find what I need without hurting my eyes. It's quite sensitive, so sometimes I accidentally turn it on. With this lamp I can conveniently charge my phone on my bedside table without an additional cable. Aside from how it works, I like the way it looks. I was pleasantly surprised that the lampshade is a very light gray which helps to cast ambient light and matches the silver color of the lamp itself. My only concern is finding the lightbulb when it comes time to change it. This is a very unusual size and shape. In the past I've had trouble attaching lights, especially dim ones. I suggest that you keep all documentation that came with the lamp as this lamp will be difficult to find.
