I was pleasantly surprised to discover that this remote was already programmed for one of the two functions I bought it for that my standard Roku remote didn't have: the mute button! I don't understand why Roku left that out. I followed the simple instructions in the manual and programmed the other two buttons I need: input sources and TV input. It was easy, but if you don't press the buttons fast enough, the remote will exit setup mode after a few seconds and you'll have to put it back into setup mode to continue programming. The battery compartment was not easy to open. I wish the buttons didn't make a clicking sound when pressed! I also wish the side volume buttons were easier to press. By the way, about wishes! I would suggest the manufacturer allow programming of the four network buttons. But maybe they have a contractual agreement that enforces it.
