Specially designed COB LED heatsink perfect for 50W LED

If you are going to get a pure COB LED light with or without a driver this block is essential to protect the light and electronics cool. The lens works great too, with minor modifications for some COBs. I could have made a DIY heatsink for less money, but the time it took to drill the right holes, tap threads, and install screws wasn't worth the $24. The LED I used was a driverless 50W COB chip that can be found at Revain: https://www. amazon.com/gp/product/B07GTMQSFZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I measure the power and it's the real 50 W. With the fan off, the heat sink only got very hot after a few minutes. Some important points to note: 1. Use some decent thermal paste (I have some old Arctic Silver 3), clean the backside of the chip with rubbing alcohol and also the surface of the heatsink. Apply a thin layer of paste to the back of the LED chip, spread with a razor or a credit card. Install and secure well with the 4 M3 screws provided. (for some reason they actually shipped 5 of them).2. There are 4 bumps on the back of the small reflector that comes with the lens. They align with holes in multiple COB chips that require a driver. My COB didn't have these holes so I took a razor and shaved off the bumps. So it sits flush on the chip. The reflector is plastic, so it's easy.3. With 12V on the fan LOUD. I used a 2A universal power supply and set it to 7.5V. At 7.5V, the fan runs almost silently, but provides enough airflow to keep the heatsink warm. I had to do some soldering to make this connection.4. If glare bothers you, take a stainless steel mixing bowl, cut a 53mm hole in the center of the base and then 4 more holes to line up with the screws that go into the lens barrel. Check out the application. Looks cool too ;)5. To hang the light, I ran a rope diagonally from one screw to the other on the fan grill and then hung it from it. Works perfectly! After working with the first one, I went and bought the second one. Yes I would recommend it.
