Dead on arrival but I fixed it.

This is working after I fixed it. When I received the device and plugged it in, the power light came on, but none of the outlets (power or USB) worked. I considered sending it back but realized there couldn't be much inside this thing so I decided to open it up instead. I found the screws under the rubber feet and they used a triangular piece to screw it together so it wasn't as easy to get in as I thought it would be. Upon opening it I noticed that the wire gauge looks slightly smaller than real 18AWG wire so I don't trust that as it carries a lot of current but it should work fine for my bedside table. I took the attached photo of the USB charging board to zoom in and examine the solder joints. I found the problem was that the wire coming out of the power button was badly soldered. (Should have taken a picture before it was repaired and put back together.) It was loose and in a hole. When I shook it, it connected. This was an easy fix by re-soldering that connection, but after seeing the inside of this thing I figured I should have spent a little more and looked for an extension cord with a heavier gauge wire inside and USB ports for fast charging . .
