Review on LG 32GN50T B Ultragear Monitor: 1920X1080 HD Compatibility, High Dynamic Range (HDR) Display by Travis Jarvis

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Reliable monitor at a reasonable price

So this is a solid monitor for its price. Big and with great features for gaming. I bought a refurbished model listed here, for some reason my menu button doesn't work and the monitor doesn't turn off when my computer goes to sleep. When the backlight is on, it stays black. I do not regret this purchase. The monitor is covered by the Revain warranty so I got a replacement today. If this replacement is defective, I will send it back as well and then try again. Edit: Replaced the monitor and the replacement works great. I've been using it for almost 18 months now. I've recently been experimenting with the HDR capabilities this monitor is said to support. I spent a lot of time setting up my PC and monitor for the best results. A more detailed study of the characteristics of this monitor revealed a brightness of 350 cd / m2. Unfortunately, this brightness level is too low to reach the Vesa DisplayHDR qualification minimum of 400 cd/m2. So as long as that monitor "supports" HDR, you won't see any benefit from turning it on. due to low peak brightness. You need at least 400 cd/m2 for HDR quality playback and the highest Vesa DisplayHDR qualification requires 1400 cd/m2. With all that has been said. This monitor still offers a great display. Color accuracy is pretty good. The 165 Hz refresh rate is priceless. And the 32" size is just perfect for my needs. This is a versatile display and given the price listed on this page you can't go wrong.
