I read a bad review about how awful penetration (oh no!) Monel was and they cost 4 times more but sometimes you have to do what You do have to do to get the job done. Anyway, the advice is the same as it has been for the past 30 years so I'm not sure what this guy got but I have ends that go at a 45 degree angle in one direction and at a 45 degree -Angles cut inwards are the opposite direction, direction on the other foot, and they work as always, so I'll just wave heartily with the weird ball evaluation and leave it at that. I've compared the new ones to samples of the main products I've collected over the past 30 years and they are the same and work the same way. What may have happened is that his rating is for the T-50 #508 (1/2 inch), which has a flat tip that does not penetrate the target. I've eaten some surfaces but I believe these longer stays are for softer surfaces where grip length is more important than hard surface penetration. " #506 T-50 will get you diagonal (45 degree) bits. If you buy 1/2" #508 and up, you will get flat chisel bits.
