The Craft and Art of Clay by Susan Peterson, Ian Peterson is the first book I bought online. I got it from the university library (I'm a sophomore at Southern Cross) and when I had to renew my loan I thought this book was worth buying. Now it's even better that I have it. The simple approach to this art, which I've never done before, makes this book a refreshingly easy read. It can be used to find details and for general viewing, for interest. As a ceramics newbie, I wanted a book that wouldn't hang around in my head, nor did I want to finish it and then find that there was nothing more to it. I found this book to contain both basic and advanced information in an easy to read format. I am very happy to recommend it to anyone interested in getting started with clay, particularly 3D and ceramics students, and I am confident that I will continue to refer to this book throughout my professional career.
