Great update. I have a 54" Hampton Bay fan with a 9" round 36W fluorescent light. This will work but will require some mods. You need to connect the wires and cut about 1/8 inch from the corners of the plastic cover that abut the innermost mounting holes. Just remove enough plastic to allow the assembly to move back and forth to align the bracket. There is no need to remove metal from the edges of the PCB. The mounting holes will need to be trimmed on the very edge as the screw pattern on the fan housing is approximately 1/4 inch wider. to mount it flush with the lampshade body, otherwise you will not be able to remount the glass lampshade. Because its metal backing abuts the metal fan body, you don't need a ground wire either. It's a really bright white light I've already bought another one to upgrade our other fan of the same model. Definitely recommend if you want somewhere lively.
