I bought this unit about 2 years ago and I bought a pack of 16 batteries on top (we go through batteries a lot in this apartment because we're both gamers, the air-con unit uses them, the door lock uses them, the wall clock uses them etc.)I am really happy to write this positive review to say that I've not yet once had any of the 24 batteries in total die (16 I bought & the 8 that came with this.) All of them still work amazingly well & last a good while & still take the same amount of time to charge as they did when they were new.I've been very happy with my purchases and I have saved a fortune in the meantime. I used to buy 16 to 24 disposable batteries every 2 weeks. So imagine that over the 2 years I've had these EBLs, plus, I'm not having to throw batteries away which damages the environment, so that's just an added bonus :)10/10 from me, highly recommend. Please note though (and it does state this clearly) that you MUST recharge the batteries in pairs. If, like me, you have something that only takes 3 batteries, then you can use a fully charged one along with the 3 depleted ones & it won't do any harm. Just remember to charge in pairs. The battery charger works well with a smart plug too so I have mine linked to my Echo Dot.
