These are great grips. They are thin which I like. Great texture and feel, great build quality. However, they become slippery in the rain when ridden with bare hands. The lock grip style is excellent; I will never go back to normal grips. A few reasons: 1) They are much easier to install than regular rubber grips. No more fiddling with lube and trying to fit tight rubber hoses to your handlebars. 2) You can easily remove and reinstall them which is important for accessing your shifters and brakes for upgrades/service. With regular grips, you may have to cut them off and throw them away. 3) Although locking grabs have a higher initial cost than traditional push grabs, they are more economical in the long run because you can buy inexpensive replacement grabs and reuse the same clamps and end caps. It also makes it easy to change up your grip style if you want to experiment. The diamond pattern on the Ruffian grips has worn down on one side after a season of riding. I rotated them 180 degrees so my palm is on the fresh side and I'm swapping the worn side.
