I bought this a little over a year ago to install a TV. At that time it worked fine. After I was done I put it in my tool box and didn't think about it much. I recently had to find a bobby pin so I pulled it out and found it had died. No problem, replace the battery. Replaced the 9V battery but no luck! I put the battery in another device to make sure the battery is ok. Tried again in spike finder and no - dead as can be. So be careful - could be ready to use out of the box, but for some reason mine chose to die in the inner drawer.
