I wear size 8/10, and per the size chart, ordered L. It fitted snugly when I tried it on dry; however, when I wore it in the pool for the first time, it got a lot looser. I knew that water would go up the sleeve but it also went up the waist since the bottom edge also became loose in the water. Even so, it did seem to soften the shock to my upper body from cold water exposure. Nevertheless, the loose, water-logged top made my lap swimming a bit awkward. Alas, I can't return/exchange it since I've used it once. I wish I had ordered a size smaller.
