Review on ZAGG ZAGGfolio for Apple iPad 2 - Carbon with Black Keyboard: A Perfect Blend of Style and Functionality by Lynn Cole

A MUST FOR EVERY IPAD 2 OWNER!

Okay before I start: I've been a die-hard Otterbox fan/customer since they first started making cases. I have protected every electronic device I have with the Otterbox case including cell phones, MP3 players and my iPad 1. I love the iPad 1 Defender series. But I digress. I got an iPad 2 for Christmas. I immediately went in search of Revain and found an Otterbox Reflex/Hybrid case for my new iPad 2. I received it quickly and immediately "installed" it on my iPad 2. I haven't guessed it yet, I was less than thrilled with the result. Here I am today with my new Zaggfolio. I got it quickly through Revain and removed my old Otterbox for the occasion. Let me just say that this case and keyboard combo is awesome! Love having a full size Bluetooth keyboard for a variety of tasks (email, auctions, etc.). I'm a PC user; IMO, key spacing and layout are great. Perfect amount of space with a very handy set of shortcuts. I love that you can wake up the screen with just a touch of the keyboard. The iPad doesn't even need to be unlocked! Durability: This item is rock solid. The case protects both the front and back with enough space/holes for all ports/speakers etc. I have no problem tossing the iPad 2 in the front seat on my way to work. Functionality: As mentioned above, it's incredibly user-friendly. The Bluetooth keyboard connects to the iPad in seconds. It has a convenient on/off switch that helps extend battery life. It charges via micro USB, which you can plug into your computer or other compatible USB charger. I use my ZaggSparq 2.0 for this. In landscape mode, it has the perfect viewing angle whether you're using it on the couch or on the table. When travelling, the bolt fixes the suitcase securely. Like the Apple Smart Cover, this case puts your screen to sleep when you close it. To solve what everyone was talking about: charging the keyboard. Yes, you have to take it out of the case to access the micro USB port. I don't mind. If I need to charge it every two weeks, I don't mind removing the keyboard. I just toggle the power button to save battery when I'm not actively using the keyboard. But the great thing about the detachable keyboard is that you can use it without being tied to the case. I had no issues with keyboard scratches or screen rubbing. There are two rubber grommets/plugs above the keyboard that prevent the keys from actually making contact with the screen. But just in case I have InvisibleShield! Yes, and compatibility with Zagg InvisibleShield is not an issue. The sides of the Otterbox case are peeling off. After being a loyal Otterbox customer for many years, I took the plunge and have never looked back. I would recommend it to anyone looking for great protection and functionality.
