BEAUTIFUL WATCH on watch

I had a Seiko "Solar" watch that I bought 4 years ago. It was a pretty watch with a two-tone dial and a reddish leather strap. There was a date on the watch and it was easy to read. I liked it very much and wore it often. It died about 2 months ago and I sent it to Seiko for repairs. The warranty is only 2 months old. They sent me a repair quote for $136. Well that aside, I knew it would be ridiculous to have it fixed and since the warranty was out it pretty much was, so I had it shipped back to me. Very annoying. We now live in such a "throw away society" and I really wanted this watch and would have continued to wear it if the repair costs weren't so high. I felt like they should have refurbished them as they were only 2 months old. Out of warranty it would have been nice if they loosened me up a bit, but they didn't. I started looking again for other leather wristwatches because solar didn't last as long (I have another Citizen watch which is solar and both are about 10 years old and still work!). I couldn't find the style I was looking for at the price I was looking for so I ended up buying another Seiko (hope it's not a mistake) and this time opted for a conventional battery instead of a solar battery. ". At least I should last 3-4 years before I buy a $10 battery. Maybe buying another Seiko was stupid, but I think for the money I'd give it another try. It is really a nice watch, so we'll see.

Pros
  • wrist watch
Cons
  • there are problems
