I couldn't cut a single ear of corn from this item. It took so much force to get through the cob that I separated the top from the bottom and the corn got stuck in the metal parts that were supposed to allow the blade to expand with the size of the cob. I went back to using my grandmother's old electric carving knife. I think the blade just isn't sharp enough. Too bad because this article kept the kernels intact while we grind some of them with an electric knife.
