Does what it's supposed to do

Bought this so I can add more monitors to my MacBook Pro than my Mac can handle at one time. I installed the DisplayLink drivers directly from the DisplayLink website with no problems. After that and connecting the adapter, the connection of two more monitors went smoothly. I was impressed that OSX even knows what kind of monitor is connected to the adapter (like HP or LG) instead of giving it a generic RayCue1 or something. I mainly use secondary monitors to view documents, Slack (corporate chat), webpages or emails, which it's great for. I noticed that whenever there is activity on the monitor, there is a program called "DisplayLinkManager" running in the CPU. When I run full 1080p video on both monitors connected to the adapter, this program jumped to 160% on my mid-2015 MacBook. It still worked fine, but it's just something to think about for your use case. For example, I wouldn't play with him. However, if like me you just want to add extra monitors for your productivity apps, that's great.

  • Could have chosen a newer model
