The watch strap was a lemon. So I made lemonade

The strap does not fit the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic 46mm. This will clear the 22mm range measurements. However, the gap cover opening is not wide enough for the curved, rounded underside of the sensor. I scratched the sensor on the bottom of the watch when trying to put it on. Grabbed a bag of tools. 2 pliers and the metal cover of the gap bent and wide open from below. The 22mm quick release rods (not included) and included tool also helped. crisis averted.
