I've had this charger for two months now and it charges well. Have never tried a suction cup mount. Tried the vent clip and it held the charger well. My issue is the location of the latch on this charger. It's very easy for me to accidentally press the shutter button when I touch my phone while driving. After the third "catch” of the phone, I transferred the charging to the center console with a bracket in the ashtray. It's still charging with the same unlocking problem, easy way to open, but don't worry about the phone falling out and broken. I knew when I bought this charger that it doesn't have its own power supply to unlock the phone after you turn off the car. . I wish this would happen now after two months of having to restart the car to get my phone. If you are on a budget and just need something to charge your phone but never touch, this charger will meet your needs hence 3 stars. As for me, last week I spent a little more for a different charger/brand that isn't easy to accidentally touch and has a power supply to turn the phone off when the car is off. Moved this to a spare car.
