The mattress is not supported by any rails at the base of the bed. In theory, the mattress does not slip when used normally, but I believe that a tiny depression of the slatted bottom compared to the edges would allow the mattress to be laid more securely. It could also be interesting to consider choices with varying leg heights; for instance, I would love a height adjustment of +10 centimeters.
