This is a great way to disinfect your phone, key chains and other items that shouldn't get wet. UV light is a great way to kill germs and I love how it keeps the item completely covered - to make it safe - and surrounded by light. There is a small metal tray you can put things on so the light also hits the floor. The interior is covered with backlight and reflective surfaces, so the light can easily penetrate all parts of your items. The edges of the container are strong, but the strength is similar to that of heavy cardboard so it may bend or break with enough pressure. So treat well. You can use this for travel, but it must be plugged in to use it. It's easy to use as you just put the items inside, close it, press the button and wait three minutes. It turns off when it's done. If you try to open the top, it will turn off for safety reasons. I can't prove this kills germs, but UV light is a reliable disinfectant for hospitals and businesses, so I think it works. Also, this one is a lot cheaper than other similar ones I've seen that are more than double the price. $50 seems right so I definitely wouldn't pay more as the expensive ones work exactly the same. A very useful device.
