I got this to cut my own 1/8" thick quilling paper. So far it works like a charm. I just cut 8.5" x 11" paper or cardboard on the 8th .5" page in half. The opening width is about 4.5 inches. As soon as I start cutting paper or card, I remove the top and finish the cut so the paper stays flat and doesn't bend due to the short receptacle. It has left a slightly rough edge on some paper, but once you cut it you won't notice it unless you look very closely or through a magnifying glass. Using this saves me a ton of money and I can cut paper/card from my stash. Very happy with my purchase.
