so glad I got it! I did the first FULL CHARGE with the AC adapter. The crank works, the light is bright! Radio volume is great. The tuning disc is a little tricky. Maybe he needs an extra "fine tuning" knob like many shortwave radios do. The alarm siren will blow sulfur out of your ears! VERY LOUD. Scared my dog to death. I think it was a great investment to provide peace of mind in winter, in nature and in all weathers. Yes. I would recommend it. Good price, good product.
