Review on Emerson RCBT100 Bluetooth Ceiling Control by Tina Williams

Easy wiring module installation, application setup is easy and all controls work with no problems. Very happy with this product. .Fan will no longer appear in the "My Fans" section of the app and there is no way to sync it again. There is a "Refresh" option, but when I click it, nothing happens. I uninstalled the app, restarted my phone, downloaded the app again, but I get the same thing; It goes to the My Fans screen but my fan doesn't show up and there are no options to find it or resync the app and fan. The handheld remote still works and allows you to turn the fan on and off and change the speed, but all of the Bluetooth functionality seems to be gone, and that feature is what made me buy it. I will contact the manufacturer to troubleshoot and update this review based on the outcome. Updated 06/17/2019. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling the app again and this time it recognized the fan and allowed me to go through the initial setup again to link and rename it. Everything seems to be back to normal for now so I've upgraded from 2* to 4* (I won't go back to 5* due to the issue). If this happens again I will update this review. Another update on 06/17/19. downgraded to 2*. Again. The fan has disappeared again from My Fans in the app and there is no way to force reconnect. There is an on-screen refresh button, but it does absolutely nothing when you press it. I'll try uninstalling/reinstalling the app again, but after that I'll contact the manufacturer to find out how to proceed. Updated 06/20/19. The fan reappeared on its own in the app. I have raised my rating to 3* but will not go higher due to Bluetooth connection issues I have been experiencing. Updated September 20, 2019 from the app. I no longer try to reinstall the app or anything as it has never worked consistently. Now I just wait and the fan reappears in the app a few hours after it disappeared. Eventually I see that the connection loss becomes permanent. I hope not, but if Bluetooth reliability has been unstable almost since installation, then it goes without saying that it will fail completely. I'm going back to 2* due to constant random connection issues. Update July 2001 I forgot to update this review. I was never able to use the Bluetooth feature after December 2019, no matter what I tried the controller was no longer visible to the cellular app. I even tried another cellphone just in case the connection issues weren't related to the product itself, but no. Still nothing. The manufacturer never replied to me either. Final score = 1*.
