Great Braun Refresh

I have previously reviewed the 7071 and this razor (7075) is almost identical. The main differences are: 1) the price, which is about $20 more for the 7075, 2) the color - this razor is (mostly) black, 7071 (mostly) silver, and 3) the attachments are included . Dimensions, specifications (battery life, wet/dry capability, 360Β° head rotation), cleaning station (5434), charging cable, shaving head and shave (which is excellent) are identical. Accessories are useful if you have a beard: different length trimmer guards that fit over the included trimmer, which is actually different than the standard 7071 trimmer. The 7075 trimmer has slightly more exposed metal trimmer blades that accommodate guards and are slightly taller, but fit the razor's body in the same way - the nozzle "snaps" and "puckers". The trimmer works exactly like the 7071 trimmer. Speaking of attachments, this is Braun's first detachable trimmer attachment and not a built-in trimmer attachment. The disadvantage of this arrangement is that you have to remove the shaving cartridge and replace it with a trimmer cartridge to trim sideburns or a beard. This is something to take with you on a trip and something else to lose (although there is a handy place for it in the travel case). The benefit is that if the trimmer breaks or becomes dull (and built-in trimmers tend to do), you only need to replace your trimmer, not the entire razor. There are no replacements yet, but for example a Norelco detachable trimmer costs about $15 as opposed to $300 for a new Norelco 9000 series shaver. I would expect a Braun replacement to be around the will have the same price. This arrangement also allows for the use of other attachments - like the included beard trimmers - but a brush attachment and other types of trimmers will also be available (similar to Norelco's "System" approach to shaving). In fact, I prefer this approach because it offers more options for buying a single razor body and makes the razor itself less bulky. As with the 7071 (and this new line of razors from Braun) highly recommended.
