I know betas have to have at least a 2.5 gallon tank but to be honest my beta seems to like this tank (usually his hospital/travelling) a lot more than his usual one ! Betas don't like moving water, so his standard filter tank isn't his favorite. Coupled with his depth, he seems to resent having to swim at times. For this reason I try to give him a break every now and then so that he can stay in this tank as long as possible. I still think it's generally healthier to keep it in a tank with a filter and more space, but this tank is a good option for those who need a tank on the go.
