See update. I'm not sure if this does more than blow air around and make noise. I had another brand in my living room that did a great job removing leftover common room smoke and cooking smells. When I wanted to buy another one they no longer sold the same model so I figured this one on top would work and we moved the other one downstairs. Doesn't it cope with cooking smells, smoke residue and leaves a strange smell that I can't understand? In any case, the smell is not clean at all, I wish I had read more reviews and seen that most of them were free trials - I would have never bought it! So disappointed ☹️ In my opinion, this is a difficult transition. UPDATED 10/19/2021: Customer service is great, after reading my review they contacted me and offered to send me replacement filters. They also stated that they will be releasing an updated filter that will be available sometime in early 2022. The unit is well built and the fan seems to suck in a lot of air, I look forward to buying and trying them out. I would like to add that the strange smell disappeared after the device was turned on for a while. I will update again after trying the new filters.
