Great concept but poor execution

I bought AirMod along with QC25 on Prime Day 2018. QC25 really is a bargain. AirMod makes the QC25 wireless, almost boosting it to the QC35II. However, there are so many downsides that I felt like I was using a kickstart product. Pros: It's well built. Once you inserted the AirMod, it pressed against the QC25 and completely disintegrated. No one knows you're using two devices together. The power button doubles as a Google Home button. Interestingly, he is very sensitive and responsive. Cons: Its Bluetooth is really ridiculous. The range is small. Communication is weak. You need to be almost within 3 feet of your phone and make sure nothing is between your phone and the AirMod to establish a stable connection. Any obstacle or movement breaks the connection. And the music stuttered. Even up close, with my phone in the trunk, I noticed a stutter while walking my dog. This happens almost once every few songs. I also have a weak connection when I leave my phone on the kitchen table and open the fridge. A very long press on the power button is required to turn it on/off. Same as forward/backward. They're not kidding when the instructions say long press to turn on and off. Using this setup bought on Prime Day (QC25 and AirMod) instead of the QC35II saves me about 150. However, if I buy the QC25 at regular price (the entire rig becomes 250) I won't keep it for you. Too many flaws to offset the savings.

Pros
  • New to my collection
Cons
  • Makes me nervous
