I started the Boxiecat in April and was generally happy, although the litter stuck to the cat's paws like chewing gum. However, I felt better when they used a filler that was chemically safe for them. But after receiving my last batch and filling the bowls (I have three of these) I noticed a puddle of urine in the evening and then the next morning. As soon as I opened her tray, bugs crawled along the walls and into the tray. Our house is emptied of garbage at least once a day, so these bugs appeared almost overnight. I ran outside and threw the trash in the trash can outside only to find the same situation in two other trash cans. My cat must have sensed/seen the bugs and urinated outside the box to warn me. In short, now I need a fighter. I've since researched and found that plant-based bedding can attract insects. I believe the droppings most likely arrived with the bugs and I have informed the company of my experience. I don't think that's normal, but it's not a risk I want to take again.
