Review on πŸ“· SV3C 5MP POE IP Camera: Outdoor Security Camera with Two-Way Audio, Motion Detection, IP66 Waterproof & SD Card Recording Support (No WiFi) by Jeffrey Sanders

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Finally an easy to install POE camera that offers great pictures and lots of features

5 MP POE (this is NOT a wireless camera - it requires an Ethernet connection cable) The SV3C HX- Series is the latest addition to my external cameras. The camera is packaged in a unique way to protect it during transit - it has a form-fitting sleeve that protects the camera. The box with the camera contains several physical parts for installation and a power supply that can only be used during the initial programming of the camera. Images Included – Shipping Protection, Package Contents and User Manual, Camera Installation Configuration Example, Connecting Ethernet Cables, Power Injector. and a mesh network device. Installing the camera took only 5 minutes of my time using the CAMHI app on my smartphone. The user manual is written in easy to understand English and includes a number of excellent images and illustrations to guide you through the learning process. The CAMHI app provides an excellent interface for initial setup and ongoing monitoring. If you prefer to use Windows apps for monitoring, there is a simple guide to download and install the Windows app. I prefer the 3rd party Windows app that I have been using for years, but I found the Windows app provided by SV3C to be sufficient to monitor and control multiple of my SV3C cameras. The cameras have a number of advanced features including motion detection for alarms, intelligent humanoid detection for alarms, alarm actions including image emails, alarm call function, recording schedule, two-way audio and SD card recording. I'm using humanoid signals for an area where there shouldn't be any human movement. If someone is not familiar with POE, the concept is simple. An ethernet cable runs from the router (a mesh device in my case) to a POE injector (not included with the camera, and there are several brands available) which supplies the necessary DC power for the camera to the injector's ethernet cable is added and the Ethernet cable is then connected to the camera. Just one cable to the camera. Requiring only one ethernet connection cable (no power cable included since it's POE), this POE camera has simplified my installation options. I recommend it to everyone who buys a POE with excellent quality, a bunch of extras and easy installation.

Pros
  • Two-way audio and waterproof
Cons
  • Damaged
