Review on ๐ŸŽฎ High-Performance Manhattan HDMI Male to VGA Female Converter, Black 151467 by Jim Bethea

This is no easy task. Success Factors

This device successfully sent my Nvidia 1050 ti (made by EVGA) HDMI signal over my VGA based KVM to my monitor including the boot up sequence. This is no easy task. Success Factors: 1) Active adapter (it has logic to handle the conversion, not just pass-through wiring 2) Powered adapter (using the included micro USB cable IIRC). 3) HDMI is not 1st priority for default boot sequence. Fix it in the BIOS AND don't connect another cable from the same card to the same monitor. My card had both DVI and HDMI outputs and I connected both to a monitor. Loading appeared on the DVI interface and HDMI did not work until the OS took control. As soon as I disabled the DVI interface, the boot sequence appeared on the HDMI->VGA interface. For reference, KVM is also Manhattan. Product. I've used it at 1600x1200 for years with no problems.

Pros
  • Fully shielded to reduce EMI and other sources of interference
Cons
  • matte packaging
