The clock display is not dimmable, it's either on or off; It's either too bright at night or turned off so you can't see the time. The lighting control is touch sensitive, not backlit or textured. If you're reaching in the dark, you're likely clicking the wrong thing, ending up with lights that are too bright, or other adjustments you don't need when you're half asleep. The phone charger is tricky to use, you have to maneuver the phone to find the sweet spot to charge it. When charging, the phone partially obscures the touch-light controls, making it even more difficult to use the controls without pressing the wrong one. I suppose the light will serve on the table, I'll try.
