My 16 x 16 foot shed roof needs a reread. About a third of the house is covered by hands. I'm not 20 anymore and my knees were killing me. So I searched Lowe's site for a roof gun. I see all kinds and I see Wen's cheap nail gun and I think such a cheap gun can't be worth anything. But I've seen so many good shotgun reviews and I'm wondering if I've stumbled upon a gem? I think I paid $90 for a gun and a box of roofing nails. It gets to me in 2 days (I love Revain for that!) and I unwrap it, put 4 drops of lube in it like the instructions say, go back and continue removing the shingles. I'm not kidding when I say I covered 2/3 of the roof faster than I did 1/3 of the roof by hand. The nail gun worked like a champ. I shot out half a box of nails and NO jams, maybe 3 nails that I had to go back and hammer all the way in (I think it was operator error, I raised the gun too quickly) and maybe TWO double nails. Gun just for this job! It worked like a champ and now I have a gun to possibly tackle another umbrella project, but I'm not looking for it! All reviews are correct, this gun works great! Probably wouldn't have held up as a roofer, but for a odd job it worked as intended. I don't know how they can build such a good weapon that works so well! And just so you know, I'm not a green handyman, I'm a retired contractor. I was a roofer for many years when I was young and was a carpenter for decades, so I know my tools and know how to use them. The right tool makes the job MUCH easier and faster!
