The fabric is light and soft. However, my daughter's backpack has a rough texture on the front and when she hugged her backpack it rolled down almost immediately. Since I always have a cloth razor handy I was able to clean up the mess but I didn't even bother drying it and those pills came in so easily I was alarmed. This is our first foray into 100% polyester dresses and quality can be an issue.
