I wasn't sure how well my dog would do with salmon as I tried other brands of salmon that he never touched. Well it just arrived in the mail half an hour ago and my dog was in the entire unopened box. He knew what was in it! So I just filled the bowl and he went straight for it. The smell is not overpowering or offensive to me. I thought it was salmon but I don't mind this food and neither does my dog. A few years ago I tried 2 different types of salmon and ended up throwing them both away because they didn't even try it. That's an improvement! I have 2 dogs that react to food. One has teary eyes and licks his feet, the other is constantly itching and his hair is falling out terribly. Cricket seems ok but it's very expensive. I've read that salmon might be the best source of protein if you're having these types of allergic reactions. I say if you're trying to figure it out for yourself I'm glad to see it comes in a small pouch so you can try it out without having to invest in a £30 bag. So it's worth at least trying to see if they eat it at all. This is the first step. Kibbles are small enough to be eaten by dogs of all sizes. I am taking this time to see if my dogs are experiencing a flare up or reaction to this food and will update this anyway. I also think if my dogs have responded to this particular food or not, don't make it "bad" or deserve 1 star. I don't see anything here that I would hesitate to give my dogs as I'm not entirely sure what triggers their reaction. I think it might be chicken so I'll stay away from that and hope for the best for now. I just hope that I can quickly find something affordable that will help both dogs. I will update in about a month.
