The existing recessed can-shaped fixtures were the same size as these replacements and had the same electrical connection. That means I only removed the existing headlights, loosened the two spring hooks and unplugged the electrical connector. Then plug the new mount into the same connector, attach the two snap hooks and press firmly against the ceiling. Very easy. The adjustability of the gimbal eyeball is very good. Its 360° swivel capability makes it easy to aim exactly where you want. The light emits a bright, fairly wide beam. For dimming, I used a 150W SureSlide Universal 150W Slide-To-Off LED/CFL dimming dimmer, which works great with these lights.
