Review on Neewer Portable Compact Desktop Macro Mini Tripod: 20 inches/50 Centimeters, 360 Degree Ball Head, Quick Shoe Plate, DSLR Camera/Video Camcorder, Red by Daniel Jackson

Very unstable setup with poorly designed center column

Contrary to other reviewers I have no problems with my legs. For my intended use, which is low-level macro photography, I have no problems with my feet. The appearance of the mechanism is different from other tripods, but it can still be used. As others have pointed out, the main issue with this tripod is the center column. The clamping screw rests on a very small area plate which applies low torque and allows the column to rotate easily about its longitudinal axis. It is almost impossible to clamp this tripod. The head also has a lot of creep after clamping, and you need to learn how to overcompensate for the creep. In addition, one knob controls the pan and head movement function. Strangely, the head appears to be larger than it should be. A dense and precise composition is practically impossible. Too bad, because a bit of audio engineering would have easily solved the problems with the center speaker (you can't expect much from a top for the money). As always, you get what you pay for, but in this case it's money thrown away. I do not recommend.
