This is my second feeder for Flightaware. I built the first one myself. This time I wanted plug-n-play. From a hardware perspective, it's amazing. The only downside is a fairly noisy fan, which seems unnecessary despite having it on the window in one of the hottest climates on earth. Second software. It seems that the manufacturer has added some links to third-party tracker sites that cause the built-in piAware site to stop working without frequent refreshes. It still transmits data reliably, but the local map view stops working every few hours without a reboot, and I can see it trying to reach many CDNs, trackers, and stats sites. I can find a replacement SD card and flash an unmodified version of Flightaware onto it. Otherwise great: Unpack, screw the labeled antennas onto the labeled connections and plug in.
