I record bands and travel to them/other places to follow them and my laptop is quite dated and doesn't have the necessary I/O to record to work with my thunderbolt interface. Rather than investing in a new laptop that has minimal use beyond remote tracking, I can now move my iMac with ease, and in this case, pack everything I need to get around. No more blankets being thrown randomly across the screen hoping it won't get scratched.
