Review on πŸ”Œ SIRIUSLED Canbus Decoder Pack of 2 - Fix Headlight Bulb On/Off Flickering & Cancel Error Message - 9005 9006 LED Adapter Size by David Sanchez

UNBELIEVABLE! WORKS EXACTLY as promised on my 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee 65th Edition (WK)

I had a flickering LED at first (like we all do with new LEDs) so I decided to go the cheaper FIRST way and use it You resistor types (gold resistor) to "match" the current to the new LEDs. They worked BUT they got so hot I melted leather, plastic etc so they were far from ideal. To fix this I researched and found capacitor types so I paid a little more and got these decoders that use a capacitor and no resistor functionality. Capacitors store and release energy, resistors simply resist the flow of current and turn into heat. LED flicker is due to the fact that LEDs require much less current than halogens, so without a decoder, LEDs always receive a small amount of current (from the system or bus), which is normal for device tests. In this test, the LED either flickers or dims when it is off. Decoders fix this by adjusting the current, but with a resistor type this is too dangerous in my opinion. I've tried these SIRIUSLED decoders and you know what, they work VERY well, so well they barely get warm. I held the decoders in my hand AFTER the LEDs ran at full power for over an hour (on the way home) and they didn't get dangerously hot or even nearly burn me out. The resistors will burn the skin off my hands in seconds. The resistors heated to very high boiling points within a minute of use. Switch to a capacitor and you won't go back and be unhappy!

Pros
  • This is great
Cons
  • Some bugs
