My new Kyocera Hydro Icon came with a factory fitted PMA charge sticker so I had to look for a PMA charger. What was my surprise when I found out that Duracell Powermat is cheaper for two phones than for one phone. The product arrived in easy to open retail packaging but there was very little information on how to use it properly. very upset because my phone started charging and then stopped. At first I thought it was the wrong placement, so I learned how to place it correctly on the powermat. It helped some but didn't solve the problem. At the same time, I noticed that my cell phone heats up quickly when charging. After thinking for a few minutes, I came to the conclusion that something was probably interfering with the magnetic field. So I thoroughly cleaned the back of the phone and took a close look at the Powermat. The top of the Powermat was coated with a film of grease that was either fingerprints or a thin film of dielectric grease. So I very gently wiped the top of the Powermat with a cloth diaper dipped in warm dish soap. After making sure the surface was clean and dry, I wiped it down with a microfiber cloth. Now my Duracell Powermat works like clockwork.
