My daughter is 11 years old and she is constantly making something. She can’t sit around and do nothing, and she loves creating things, so crafts of any and all kinds are where she directs her energy right now. So we try to help her find these kinds of things because we think they are a great way for her to exercise and train her mind and help her develop her creativity.There are very few crafts that we have ordered on revain that she hasn’t loved. This was no exception. Even though she is only 11, because of her prior experience with other crafts, she found the Craft-tastic - String Art Craft Kit - Makes 2 String Art Canvases - Tropical Edition with Flamingo & Pineapple Patterns to be easy to figure out and fun to complete. I think she liked the Flamingo better than the Pineapple, but to be honest I prefer the pineapple because I like the precision of the pineapple vs the randomness of the feathers on the flamingo.What is great is that you have both options and you may have more than one child using this - so one my pick the pineapple and the other may pick the flamingo.I think this makes for a great gift for a young girl. It is the perfect price-range and doesn’t have anything that would be questionable or upset any parents. It is fairly easy to do, and even if you have to help a younger girl get started, it should be within their skill level to do the majority of it on their own.Ultimately, I don’t forsee displaying this on the wall or anything like that, but it is fun for them to make this kind of craft and teaches them so much hand-to-eye coordination and other skills. I would recommend this without hesitation.
