My MDR-V6 headphones are from the 80's, so instead of trying to "fix" those oldies, I bought new phones. It just turned into one bad experience after another. It seems I've been drifted into the world of dark bass. Why does everyone insist on extreme bass that just shuts out the rest of the musical spectrum? So I decided to take a risk and try to fix my old phones. The biggest concern was the drivers themselves, which age to the point where they become stiff/tough and distort the frequency response beyond repair. No!. These new original ear pads have solved everything! I'm happy to report that the bottom end has been fully restored, dynamic range is there and the overall frequency response is where it always was. Drivers have never been a problem. Proper "sealing" by using the correct/original ear pads is a must to keep these headphones working like new. I am ordering more pillows! Ron Tozier
