I bought this to replace a 30 year old Sony ICF7600 for road use and around the house. He's got enough volume for two people to hear when he's around. Stereo is very good when it sits just below your chin. Headphones work best for stereo on this radio. I like its convenience. Appearance, fit and finish are excellent. Feels high quality. The simplest MP3 player is useful for audio books if the chapters are short. With rechargeable batteries (not included), the battery lasts about 7 hours. It takes about 4 hours to charge with a 1 amp USB block (not included). Longer from computer USB port (USB A to Mini B cable included). I use it primarily as an FM radio, and it clearly pulls in all the local stations without extending the antenna. The visitor used it and decided to buy one.
