Why the hell should I write a review on spoons? Listen to me. For decades, my parents used Zebra Thai stainless steel spoons as everyday cutlery. Both my brothers and I totally cherished and loved them (as did our own families). This Zebra cutlery deserves special attention and has been part of our family since the 1990s. These are our favorite spoons! BENEFITS - Food grade stainless steel (Type 430) -- Moderately high corrosion resistance -- Rust resistant -- Magnetic (Type 304, the most popular grade, not) - Versatile use - Refined edges can cut almost anything - Commonly use it as a steak knife, fruit slicer, ice knife etc. - Easy to hold - Scoops up a lot of soup - Thin edges - Easier to put food in your mouth without spilling like fat spoons - Surprisingly good for kids - -- Our kids and nephews also prefer this ceramic spoon- Sturdy and unbreakable-- I've used it to break ice or scoop hard ice cream straight out of the freezer-- Unlike ceramic spoons, metal won't shatter if dropped on the ground - Very easy to stack and store - Takes up a lot less Place than other types of spoons - Portable and small - Dishwasher safe and easy to clean Cleaning MINUS - Not as pleasant to hold up like ceramic soup spoons due to sharper edges - chicken left too long in boiling hot liquids can get hot (metal absorbs heat easily) - can warp slightly after prolonged use, although this has only happened in a few decades of use - I used to bend them back to their normal shape and continued to use them for many years - Type 430 stainless steel is not the best grade and therefore only has moderate to high corrosion resistance - The lower the number the better. Type 304 is the most well-known variety. Rust spots may form, although this is extremely rare. According to the company's website, the company was founded in 1968 by Satyen Yangwanich, who turned scrap from his commercial stainless steel welding work into a spoon that our family loved. CONCLUSION My parents have been buying these Thai Zebra Spoons for as long as I can remember. They used to go to Los Angeles to buy them and when I started my own family I asked if they could buy them for me. Then they gave me a red box with 6 spoons and I immediately took a picture of them to know who made it: Zebra Thai. Years later, my westernized wife and mother-in-law transformed beautiful American flatware into versatile, no-frills Thai flatware. Our kids have picked up the same spoons over and over again, and it's a testament to the versatility, ease, and quality that my parents and I have enjoyed for decades. If it wasn't already obvious, we highly recommend these spoons! Try it!
