Review on 🌞 Alba Botanica Sensitive SPF Sunscreen by Gina Williams

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Least popular of the 4 physical sunscreens I tried - my skin got too sticky

After we made the decision to switch from chemical sunscreen to physical sunscreen I bought 4 different types which worked well , physical sunscreens to try them rate which one I liked the most. This was my least favorite and I would not recommend it based on its use and effect on my skin. Note that all physical sunscreens are harder to apply and rub in than chemical sunscreens, so it's difficult to compare them. the feel of physical sunscreens versus chemical ones. Fast Foundation - Physical sunscreens work by containing active mineral ingredients that are applied to the skin and reflect UV rays. Chemical sunscreens cause a chemical reaction on your skin, converting UV rays into heat. Here are 4 sunscreens I've tried, in order of preference. All 4 sunscreens protected me from the sun, so the rating is solely based on ease of use and overall feel. Top 2 recommended, bottom 2 not: #1) *Recommended* Blue Lizard Baby 30+ Blue Lizard Australian SUNSCREEN SPF 30+, Baby, SPF 30+, 8.75 oz Easiest to apply of 4. Good coverage. Easier to rub in than others 3. Please note that Blue Lizard has two physical sunscreens - Sensitive and Baby. According to a previous review, another Revain customer actually called the company and asked for confirmation that the two formulas are basically the same, so just go with the one on sale :)#2) *Recommended* CeraVe SPF 50 CeraVe SPF 50 Sunscreen Body Lotion , 3.0 oz Very firm physical sunscreen. Heavier than Blue Lizard but still fairly easy to apply. I don't know if SPF 50 really does anything different than SPF 30+, but we used this sunscreen solely for a sunny hike in 100+ degree weather with no tree growth - not a good idea in hindsight - and didn't. . To avoid burns!#3) *Not Recommended* Badger SPF 30 Badger All Natural Sunscreen, SPF 30, Unscented, 2.9 oz (87 ml). Very thick, feels like cream. Harder to rub. I think its benefit is that it's 100% natural (whatever that means) but the sunscreen was heavy enough to use so it wasn't worth it. #4) *Not Recommended* Alba Botanica Unscented Sensitive Sunscreen SPF 30 Alba Botanica Unscented Sensitive Sunscreen SPF 30 Mineral Sunscreen 4oz The sunscreen felt too greasy for me and my skin felt clammy after application. My definitely least favorite of the 4 I've tried. With a physical sunscreen I can use a heavier sunscreen that also doesn't rub in as you have the benefit of not causing a chemical reaction on your skin. But none of the other sunscreens made my skin as sticky as this one.
