The best tank I've ever had! Halo 30L 8 gal

This review is for the BIORB 30L/8 gal tank, grey. I have owned this pool for 3 weeks now. I am very satisfied with the purchase so far. Initially I was very unsure if this would be a good buy based on the mixed reviews for this aquarium. I currently have 3 neon tetras, 1 male fashion guppy, 1 white cloud minnow, 1 ghost shrimp and 1 cherry shrimp. Based on other people's feedback, I made sure the tank was 0 Ammonia and 0 Nitrate before adding more fish. Here's how I started my aquarium: 1. Follow the directions on the packaging to clean the ceramic support, assemble the filter, and add the two solutions that came with it.2. I bought 1 java fern and 3 balls of marimo moss (all bought here in Revein). Loved the java fern rooted around the coconut husk and the marimo moss balls are lovely! Added a 50W heater and thermometer. Let the tank run for 48 hours.3. I first bought 2 fancy guppies for bike fishing. Feed them every other day to minimize the ammonia spike. I brought some tank water to petco and they did a free water sample analysis. Then I added 3 neon tetras and 1 ghost shrimp. After another week and a half I changed 30% of the water. I put in an API dechlorinator and API ammo lock for water changes. Waited a few days, then added 1 white cloud and 1 cherry shrimp. Ammonia levels are slowly increasing (my mistake is I've increased the bioburden too much) so I'm currently correcting this every 2 days by dosing an ammo blockade. If the ammonia level in my aquarium doesn't drop after 7 days of using the ammo lock (which means my aquarium isn't producing ammonia-absorbing bacteria fast enough), I'll try another partial water change or partial foam filter replacement (cut smaller part of an old Styrofoam donut -Filters and add it to the new styrofoam donut for healthy bacteria). Biorba decorations can be expensive, I have purchased coral lava stone and red seaweed decoration from Biorba. But java fern and moss balls were much cheaper and healthier for the aquarium as they help convert nitrate to nitrite and add oxygen to the aquarium. it is on too long earlier during the day. Turning off the lights also keeps algae growth to a minimum. But my guests love the tank! It's really nice as everything inside is enlarged. It's also nice to have extra purple moonlight. I would encourage people to buy this tank if you read carefully about its cycles and maintenance! Ppl also recommended keeping small fish here e.g. B. 1 inch or less. Maximum 7-8 small shrimp/fish. The 50w heater is a perfect fit as it comes with instructions on how to route the heater wiring through the small hole in the tank cap. The pump hums a bit, but it's not loud enough to be heard across the room. Enjoy attached photos! *UPDATE* - It's been 5 weeks now and everything is going great. Added 2 extra cherry shrimp. Ammonia levels are currently stable, sometimes 30-40% water changes every 2 weeks with a vacuum cleaner. The tank is still nice and clean, easy to maintain. No regret. * LAST UPDATE: over a year later! - - 3 tetras are still alive! A guppy, a white cloud and a zebrafish, all about a year old! The shrimp didn't live long but mostly died if I didn't change the water every 2 weeks. Still loving this biorb! Headlight and pump work!
