UPDATED REVIEW. I have to deduct one star from the rating of this monopod because the leg at the bottom of the monopod is not detachable, which means it cannot be attached to a tripod base or other mount. If you don't plan on attaching it to a base, this monopod is for you. Aside from that minor blemish, the rest of the review is spot on - this is a great monopod at a great price. --------- I just received it and I have to say I'm impressed. This is a very good monopod that is well made and worth (I think) the $20 bargain. The monopod is extremely stiff, even when fully extended. The first thing I did when I got it was pull it out all the way to see how "flexible" or flexible it is. It barely bends, almost like a piece of tubing. It's nice and strong but not too heavy. The leg at the bottom of the monopod can be rotated back to reveal the metal tip; It's a pretty standard feature that many budget monopods don't have, but this one does. The leg locks are snug and the grip foam is comfortable; Let's see how well it holds up over time. The monopod comes in a zipped case with a full length carrying strap. The only thing I can fault about this monopod is the tiny hand/wrist strap. It is very small, I could hardly have fit a medium sized hand in it. If you're tall and/or tall, you *can't* use it. (Just cut off the strap and use string or whatever to make your own strap. I used a strap from an old camera that was gathering dust in a drawer.)
