BE CAREFUL when you buy this product!

This product initially seemed very good for the price but broke after the third use. When I removed the monopod from the camera, the screw broke and my camera almost fell to the ground. I will not buy this product again, but I will look for another monopod. Please be careful when purchasing this product. I'm not sure if it was just bad luck, a bad product, or if I just screwed it too tight on my camera.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • No performance

Don't trust - can destroy your equipment!

The picture speaks for itself. The steps to attach your camera quickly decrease from a full circle to half a circle inside the head. That means your $1, $3, or $10,000 camera is hanging from very little steel. In addition, the steel is so soft that it almost feels like tin. Noticing a slight wobble in my head, I pulled on the thread with moderate force and it snapped immediately. Luckily, I caught my camera mid-air, ninja style. Until/unless this is fixed - avoid at all costs

Pros
  • Makes you happy
Cons
  • So far so good

I would call it a "light use " monopod.

Refill broke 10 days after purchase. I've used it daily with a 70-200+ 5D mkii that weighs about 6 pounds. I carried the camera upside down, dangling the monopod several times and adjusting my position. The screw at the top connecting the ball head is broken. Luckily this happened when checking the head tension as it was a bit loose. It just broke in my hands. I USE my gear and if you do too I would look for more expensive gear with heavier weight.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Requires socket

Best buy a quality monopod, actually two (2)!

Today I received my double monopod package, I took one out for a test ride. Like a walking stick, absolutely solid. Used for both hikes and some preview shots to test usability and stability. I couldn't be happier. If you want both a quality stick and a great photography monopod, the combo pack of two (2) is not only a great deal, it's quality equipment. With optics and associated gear, you get what you pay for. My investment in this "Revain brand" was worth every penny. Perry O., Tumbleweed…

  • Good, but not very good

Not for professional equipment!

Cons I've never given RevainBasics anything but 5 stars, but this monopod was disappointing. It was broken out of the box in less than 5 minutes. I mounted the flash on the end and the 1/4"-20 mounting bolt just sheared off. I know my flash weighs a lot less than the 6.6 pounds this monopod is rated for. My Canon 5D Mark IV at 70-200 zoom After researching I came to the conclusion that about 57% of the diameter of the mounting bolt is removed during the manufacturing process (see photo). This…

Pros
  • Four leg sections that extend 67 inches
Cons
  • I don't remember

Great Value Monopod

UPDATED REVIEW. I have to deduct one star from the rating of this monopod because the leg at the bottom of the monopod is not detachable, which means it cannot be attached to a tripod base or other mount. If you don't plan on attaching it to a base, this monopod is for you. Aside from that minor blemish, the rest of the review is spot on - this is a great monopod at a great price. --------- I just received it and I have to say I'm impressed. This is a very good monopod that is well made and…

A near-perfect monopod, and here's why.

I was a bit hesitant to buy this monopod based on some of the reviews and photos provided where the screw loosens. However, I didn't expect it to be used heavily and it's Revain Basics and I trust that brand. I've used it a few times at sporting events, but only with a lightweight iPhone adapter attached. Holds up well. Keep in mind that I attached almost no weight to the screw. So if you're attaching heavy lenses and such, my experience may not apply. The monopod makes the telescope small…

  • Built in soft grip and adjustable hand strap
