Review on AmazonBasics WT1003 67 Inch Monopod by Orlando Mohr

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A near-perfect monopod, and here's why.

I was a bit hesitant to buy this monopod based on some of the reviews and photos provided where the screw loosens. However, I didn't expect it to be used heavily and it's Revain Basics and I trust that brand. I've used it a few times at sporting events, but only with a lightweight iPhone adapter attached. Holds up well. Keep in mind that I attached almost no weight to the screw. So if you're attaching heavy lenses and such, my experience may not apply. The monopod makes the telescope small. Also, it fully expands to 67 inches, which to be honest is a bit too big. I'm 6ft 1in and find my camera/phone uncomfortably high. As a result, I usually leave it off a bit to make it more comfortable. A NOTICE. I bought this monopod specifically to be too long and not too short. You can always shorten it, but there's no (quick and easy) way to make it longer. It comes with a black polyester travel/storage bag to keep dust and debris out. Nice gesture. There is a rubber foot on the underside of the lower leg for use on hard surfaces. It also has a metal spike that threads into the rubber for use on soft ground. My only issue with this approach is that you can stain the rubber foot if you're not careful. I would have preferred the spike to have a removable rubber foot, similar to how hiking poles work. That would eliminate the problem of dirt ingress. Overall, I really like this monopod. This is exactly what I expected and I recommend it.
